Article Features Companies Using Instant Messaging Apps

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (PRWEB) April 24, 2018 - AdvantaClean, the nation’s leading franchised provider of Light Environmental Services™, was recently featured in an article in The Wall Street Journal about the use of instant messaging apps within the office.

“The Instant Message Generation Gap,” written by Sue Shellenbarger, discusses the increased use of instant messaging in the workplace, in large part due to the younger employees using similar communication apps outside the office. The article also explores the dynamic between younger workers who frequently use instant messaging and older employees who may be initially hesitant to do so.

For the past two years, AdvantaClean employees in its corporate headquarters in Huntersville, North Carolina, have used the popular instant messaging app, Slack. The app allows group chats, direct messaging to individuals, and voice and video calls across multiple devices. Images, documents and links can be sent via the Slack app, which also gives employees a very quick and informal platform to reply.

The article concludes with a quote from AdvantaClean’s Chief Technology Officer Tony Hopp about advising employees to avoid falling into the trap of expecting all messaging to happen at warp speed. “Don’t assume that if you don’t get a message back in two minutes, your co-worker is ignoring you,” said Hopp in the article.

In addition to Slack, AdvantaClean also uses Basecamp as its project management software to assign tasks and responsibilities for employees and team members. When a new franchisee is brought on board, officials in the corporate office will often use Basecamp to help the franchise owner get their business established from start to finish. The company believes Basecamp helps them stay more organized and efficient and increases employee communication and accountability.

Officials with AdvantaClean enjoy using each messaging app and believe they both help in their internal communication and overall efficiency. Their employees have embraced this new technology as a way to organize their business and better serve their customers.
