Interim HealthCare Inc. Announces 2018 ‘Nurse of the Year’

Kelly Noctor of Greenville, SC. honored for her exceptional caregiving and service

May 10, 2018 // Franchising.com // SUNRISE, FL - Interim HealthCare Inc., a leading national franchisor of home care, hospice and healthcare staffing, today announced Kelly Noctor as its 2018 Nurse of the Year. Kelly works as a registered nurse for Interim HealthCare of the Upstate (including Greenville, SC), bringing comfort and care to her patients and their families. The “Interim HealthCare Nurse of the Year” is awarded annually during National Nurses Week, which begins May 6 and ends on May 12, Florence Nightingale's birthday.

“Nurses are an integral component of the care delivery system, and while all are special, it takes a truly remarkable person to give of themselves the way that Kelly has to her patients, their families and the local community she serves,” said Larry Kraska, Interim HealthCare Inc. CEO and President. “As an organization, we are honored to work alongside nurses who bring exceptional care to people at home and ensure they have the opportunity to live full lives while aging in place.”

Interim HealthCare of the Upstate frequently receives calls from patients and families expressing their gratitude for Kelly going above and beyond in delivering outstanding patient care. A recent example of her dedication was when Kelly couldn’t reach someone by phone. Being very concerned for the sick patient, she drove to their house only to hear several dogs barking and no response. Kelly called all the hospitals in the area, waited for police to come by for a wellbeing check and arranged for pet care. The patient was eventually located the next day at a hospital in another town. This is only one instance of the integrity and compassion that Kelly shows every day as a nurse.

"I am honored to be recognized as Interim’s Nurse of the Year, and I’m grateful that my profession allows me to provide care and be part of so many lives in such a special community,” said Kelly, who graduated from Edison State Community College with her nursing degree in May of 1996. “Caring for people is more than just a job; it’s a true calling for me, and I have been lucky to do such meaningful work.”

“We need more great caregivers like Kelly to help take care of our aging population nationwide,” said Kraska. “The demand for in-home nurses and aides is rapidly rising, and we strongly encourage more people to consider a rewarding career in home health care.”
