Alamo Drafthouse Denton Grand Opening Set For June 18

Alamo Drafthouse DFW debuts its Premium Large Format theater, The Big Show, with state-of-the-art immersive audio and projection technology.

June 11, 2018 // Franchising.com // Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX - Alamo Drafthouse DFW is pleased to announce that their first theater in Denton, Texas will open on Monday, June 18th. Alamo Drafthouse Denton will be the first Alamo Drafthouse location in Texas, and just the second theater across the brand, to feature the company’s next-generation Premium Large Format standard, The Big Show. The 100% recliner, 232 seat theater features state-of-the-art Sony 4K Laser Dual projection system optimized for the enormous 66’ wide x 28’ tall curved screen and transformative Dolby Atmos audio technology with 36 finely-tuned speakers providing a truly immersive, three-dimensional audio experience.

“As a graduate of UNT’s Radio, Television, and Film department and a former Denton resident, I couldn’t be more thrilled to finally have an Alamo Drafthouse in such an artistically and creatively driven city,” says James Wallace, Alamo Drafthouse DFW Creative Manager. “ It’s especially exciting to have our new premium large format theater, The Big Show, make its debut in North Texas at the Denton theater, and we can’t wait to work with the university and the city’s many arts organizations, film festivals, and arts community as a whole to bring Alamo Drafthouse’s signature brand of events and unique programming to the city’s cinephiles, students, families, and movie lovers alike.”

Alamo Drafthouse Denton, with eight auditoriums ranging in size from 49 to 232 seats and combined seating for 880 moviegoers, is the acclaimed cinema-eatery’s fifth location in North Texas and is part of the Rayzor Ranch Town Center shopping, dining and entertainment destination located at I-35 and Hwy 380 in Denton, Texas.

Alamo Drafthouse Denton features the company’s signature mix of first-run films and curated specialty programming, extensive made-from-scratch food and beverage menu, luxury recliner seating throughout every auditorium, and will be equipped for 3D and 35mm projection. The theater is also home to Vetted Well, a bar and event space featuring an extensive lineup of local craft beer.

Tickets go on sale soon at drafthouse.com, and guests will be able to enjoy the best of Hollywood and independent cinema, like the upcoming JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM and MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - FALLOUT, along with Alamo Drafthouse’s eclectic repertory programming including THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW Movie Parties in celebration of the theater’s Rocky Horror themed lobby and a “Big Movies on the Big Screen” series showcasing The Big Show. Staff training days, where guests will discounted food and non-alcoholic drinks while staff train in the new space, will run June 18th through June 21st.

Alamo Drafthouse Denton continues the company’s high standards of delivering the best possible theatrical experience to its guests including Alamo Drafthouse’s famous and strict “No Talking or Texting” during the film. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy curated pre-show entertainment. Instead of a barrage of advertising, Alamo Drafthouse presents a pre-show of rare (and often hilarious) clips specifically tailored to the feature film.
