Golden Corral President & CEO Lance Trenary Honored with Patriot Award

Trenary Recognized by Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing for Support of Disabled Veterans

June 19, 2018 // Franchising.com // Golden Corral President and Chief Executive Officer Lance Trenary was recently presented with the Patriot Award by the Board of Trustees of Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. for his exceptional support and dedication to the organization from 2011 to 2018.

The Patriot Award is the highest and most prestigious award given by PHWFF. It is awarded to individuals or organizations that have demonstrated continuous and extraordinary service to PHWFF as an organization, and to those whom the organization serves, our disabled veterans.

Trenary’s support of the PHWFF helped the organization provide significant improvements in physical and emotional rehabilitative activities for disabled veterans. He currently serves as a member of the Project Healing Waters’ Founder’s Circle, which develops a strategic plan and vision for the organization. For the past several years, Trenary supported the Mossy Creek Invitational Fly Fishing Tournament to benefit Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing. He partnered in the tournament with a disabled participant each year.

“It is an honor to be presented with the Patriot Award by Project Healing Waters,” said Lance Trenary. “It is an incredible organization that works tirelessly to support a cause close to my heart, helping disabled veterans. I have been enriched by my association with Project Healing Waters over the years and look forward to continuing to work with them to support our military heroes.”

Trenary joined Golden Corral in 1985 and was named President and Chief Executive Officer in 2015. He and Golden Corral have been long-standing supporters of American veteran causes. Trenary serves on the Board of Directors for Camp Corral, a free, one-of-a-kind summer camp experience for children of wounded, injured, ill or fallen service members. Since 2011, Golden Corral, their partners, and their guests have provided more than $9 million to Camp Corral.

For the last 17 years, Golden Corral has hosted “Military Appreciation Night” around Veterans Day, serving free meals to active and retired military members in communities across the country. Since this initiative started, Golden Corral has provided 5.4 million free meals to veterans and active military personnel while raising more than $14 million in donations for Disabled American Veterans.
