Lemon Tree Family Salons Takes Bigger Cut Into Texas

Full-service, family hair salon franchise signs agreement for first Houston salon

July 17, 2018 // Franchising.com // EAST HANOVER, N.J. - With one location opening in Hurst, Texas, Lemon Tree Family Salons, the New Jersey-based full-service, family hair salon that has cultivated a loyal following on the East Coast, is looking to expand further in the Lone Star state with a salon in Katy.

Located at 2211 Fry Road, the new salon is slated to open in November 2018 and will be owned and operated by Steven McKelvey, and his wife Irene. McKelvey anticipates opening an additional two to three locations over the next several years.

Prior to joining Lemon Tree, McKelvey worked in mining for nearly 30 years, including 22 years in mining management. After living in Fairbanks, Alaska, the miner desired a chance to spend more time with his family and move closer to their extended family, which is what drew him to franchise with Lemon Tree.

Unlike most other salon franchises that focus mainly on haircutting, Lemon Tree salons provide a full-range of professional services and products for the whole family - whether it’s a child’s first haircut or services for seniors. Lemon Tree offers the latest in haircuts & styling, coloring, blow-outs, straightening, and facial waxing, among other services. The salons are open seven days and five nights per week so clients can visit when it’s most convenient for them. While clients have the option of scheduling appointments, Lemon Tree’s walk-in policy allows them to visit anytime.
