RadioShack to Open over 100 New Express Locations Nationwide

FORT WORTH, Texas - (BUSINESS WIRE) - July 26, 2018 - From humble beginnings in Boston in 1921, over the past 97 years RadioShack established itself as a globally recognized leader and the go-to retailer for consumer electronics. RadioShack has always been known for having answers to the American public’s technology and electronics questions. “You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.”

Recently, RadioShack refocused its efforts on both its ecommerce platform and a growing number of over 400 dealer locations. It announced a partnership with HobbyTown last week to bring RadioShack branded electronics to over 60 HobbyTown franchise store locations nationwide. Over time this new RadioShack Express “store-within-a-store” concept will be rolled out to HobbyTown in over 100 of their locally owned stores.

“We are excited about the HobbyTown partnership, as it will allow us to re-engage and directly serve our core hobby and DIY communities,” says Steve Moroneso, Chief Executive Officer of General Wireless Operations Inc.

Established in 1985, HobbyTown has one of the largest footprints of hobby and toy retail stores in the U.S., with a growing emphasis on specialty toys and STEM products. The HobbyTown partnership will bring RadioShack to more suburban markets. “This will expand the RadioShack footprint quickly and enhance the product selection and services offered at HobbyTown locations,” according to HobbyTown President Bob Wilke.
