Second Annual BIGGBY® COFFEE Giving is Getting Campaign

BIGGBY® COFFEE to Raise Money for Mental Health Awareness

August 29, 2018 // Franchising.com // East Lansing, MI - BIGGBY® COFFEE is thrilled to announce the second annual Giving is Getting campaign for the month of September. This year, the BIGGBY® family will be raising money for Mental Health Awareness through partnerships with i understand and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month and with the BIGGBY® vision stating that “we exist to support you in building a life you love,” the culture-focused coffee concept is putting their money where their mouth is. “The discussion on mental health has never been stronger and showing the world that we live up to who we say we are will, without a doubt, show our customers who we are,” said Engagement Innovator, Erica Velasco. “We feel like it is our responsibility as a company with strong people-centric values to join hand-in-hand to shed light on this important topic and be a friend.”

Since the very beginning of BIGGBY® COFFEE back in 1995, being present in the community has always been an important part of running a business according to co-CEOs Bob Fish and Mike McFall. “Our goal is to recognize customers as individuals on a deeper level and to live up to our Brand Manifesto, that through this cool medium of coffee we get to make friends with everybody,” said Mike.

The entire Giving is Getting campaign will be centered around Mental Health Awareness and “supporting people in building a life they love.” Fanatics will be invited to purchase a pink stress heart with proceeds going to i understand. They can also purchase a wall badge with funds going directly to the mental health awareness campaign through i understand or AFSP, depending on the BIGGBY® location. These dollars donated will support resources to help save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide and mental illness.

Join us September 1 as we kick off the 2018 Giving is Getting Mental Health Awareness campaign! Be sure to follow along on the BIGGBY® COFFEE social media outlets for a behind-the-scenes look at how our efforts are making an impact in your local communities, facts on how these organizations are making a difference in the lives of those they support, and to track our progress. We encourage you to give back directly to the organizations as well and learn more about i understand and AFSP.

About BIGGBY® COFFEE

BIGGBY® COFFEE, East Lansing, Mich.-based, was started with a single store on March 15, 1995. One year later, and on the cusp of opening a second location, Bob Fish and Michael McFall, on a handshake and $4,000, decided to franchise the concept. BIGGBY® COFFEE’s cultural values of Make Friends, Have Fun, B Yourself, and Share Great Coffee help coffee-lovers and the coffee-curious alike benefit from a less pretentious and fun approach to the standard gourmet cafe paradigm. Besides connoisseur-worthy drinks with pronounceable names like Teddy Bear® and Caramel Marvel®, BIGGBY® baristas provide a unique experience focused on brightening their customer’s day and supporting them in building a life they love. The “Big ‘B’” on the orange background caught on, and today BIGGBY® COFFEE has 275 cafes open or under contract across ten states including: Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Florida, Texas, and New Jersey. In 2018, BIGGBY® launched an Area Representative Program and currently has 4 area representatives in 4 states.
