Fresh Coat Painters North Austin Donates More Than $2,500 in Painting Work to Central Texas Table of Grace

The donation allows Central Texas Table of Grace to put those funds toward providing for the children in their care.

ROUND ROCK, TEXAS (PRWEB) August 30, 2018 - At Central Texas Table of Grace, the staff does their best to provide a supportive, home-like environment for the kids in their care as well as a compassionate, professional atmosphere for their team of employees and volunteers. But with a shoestring budget and an office with stark, white walls, creating that kind of atmosphere can be challenging.

When Central Texas Table of Grace Founder and Director Stacy Johnson called Fresh Coat Painters North Austin for a quote on painting the office space, she had her fingers crossed that they could maybe get a non-profit discount on the work. She knew the walls desperately needed a fresh coat, but she wasn’t quite sure how they were going to afford it. When Karen Wagner, the local owner of Fresh Coat Painters North Austin, saw the facility and learned about the work Central Texas Table of Grace does in the community, she didn’t hand over the quote. She offered to pick up the tab to painting the office/training facility as part of Fresh Coat’s Paint it Forward program, which would have cost more than $2,500.

“The office space definitely needed a refresh and, when I learned about the work they do and saw the kids they care for, I knew I wanted to help. We ended up painting the training room, bathroom, children’s room (including a dry erase wall), office, receptionist area and hallway. As a small business owner, I think it’s important to give back to the community that supports me any time I can. This is my third Paint it Forward project and I’m excited that we could help Central Texas Table of Grace give their office space a facelift,” Wagner said.

Central Texas Table of Grace is a non-profit organization that provides shelter, healthy food, instills good habits and life skills training in a loving, nurturing home-like environment for displaced children in the community. Central Texas Table of Grace cares for 13 boys and girls, including many siblings, between the ages of 6 and 17. The organization has both a home facility as well as the office space next door, which includes a training room and children’s room, which often serves as a respite when kids need a break from the main house.

“The satellite office is an extension of the shelter and we wanted it to look professional and comfortable, but with the glaring white walls, it felt extremely sterile. We are so thankful that Fresh Coat was able to come in and help us give the space a fresh, new look. It’s amazing what fresh paint and a pop of color can do and we are so appreciative,” Johnson said.

“We provide a structured environment, but we want to make it feel as much like a home possible, so we take them school shopping, we took them on a trip to Six Flags recently and we have independent living skills classes. With this Paint it Forward donation, the money we would have spent on painting we can spend on caring for the children instead,” Johnson added.

Wagner said she was especially excited about giving the kids a dry erase wall in their children’s room, so they’d have a fun, creative outlet. She said Fresh Coat Painters North Austin specializes in unique coatings, like dry erase or chalkboard walls.

Fresh Coat offers residential and commercial painting services including interior or exterior painting, wood staining, and other services for nearly every protective coating application. They have a 24/7 receptionist, online scheduling, free detailed quotes, and they only use high-quality materials. Fresh Coat Painters North Austin serves Austin, Cedar Park, Leander and Round Rock.

Paint It Forward was inspired by Eric Ascencio, previous co-owner of a Fresh Coat Painters franchise in Houston, Texas. Ascencio, who died of cancer, had made it his mission to be an inspiration to others in need and to give back to those in his community, leaving behind a legacy when he lost his battle with the disease.
