Krystal Foundation Announces Grant Winners And Opens New Application Window

K-12 Steam-funding Organization Awards Over $100,000 To 31 Schools

January 30, 2019 // Franchising.com // ATLANTA - The Krystal Foundation announces $101,112.78 in enrichment funding for 31 schools and school-affiliated organizations. These grant recipients were chosen from 229 applications received during the Foundation’s first two grant windows for the 2018-2019 academic year. The next grant window opens on February 1 and extends to March 1 when recipients will be selected for an additional $50,000 for impactful programming in science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM) as well as music, sports and culinary arts.

“Krystal is fully invested in the communities we serve,” said Paul Macaluso, Krystal president and CEO and president of The Krystal Foundation. “The Foundation helps pay for programs that foster academic enrichment, while building life skills for the children of our customers and our employees.”

The Krystal Foundation supports enrichment programs in science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM) as well as music, sports and culinary arts. Sponsored by The Krystal Company, the Foundation has allocated over $233,000 in grants to 92 schools and organizations across Krystal’s 11-state footprint since its inception in 2016, including nearly $155,000 for the 2018-2019 academic year. See full list of schools here.

“Krystal grants have magnified the power of the arts in Hamilton County Schools through the Krystal Foundation awards,” said Claire Stockman, content lead for the arts for Hamilton County Schools in Chattanooga. “With these special funds, students will take the stage with band instruments, use puppets to facilitate self-expression, and many other improvements in schools made possible by Krystal. The arts make a difference, and opportunities like the Krystal grant expand a child’s possibilities for the future.”

Teachers, principals, school faculty, PTO/PTA groups and other K-12 school-affiliated organizations are all eligible to apply. Those wishing to apply for a grant may do so by visiting thekrystalfoundation.com.
