Kumon Math and Reading Center of Sanford Now Taking Enrollments

February 14, 2019 // Franchising.com // SANFORD, Fla. - Born and raised in Indonesia, Ilona Sianturi-Hastie met and married her American husband in Indonesia and moved to the United States to raise her family. After a few years of working as a lead preschool teacher, she knew she had a passion for education and working with children. Sianturi-Hastie’s friend, also a native of Indonesia, is an owner and Instructor of a Kumon Center. When Sianturi-Hastie expressed her love for education, her friend immediately recommended the Kumon Franchise. After visiting her friend’s center, she was inspired to open her own center. Today, she is the proud owner of Kumon Math and Reading Center of Sanford.

“My friend truly inspired me to open my own Kumon Center,” said Sianturi-Hastie, owner and Instructor of Kumon Math and reading Center of Sanford. “After visiting his center, it opened my eyes to seeing the impact the Kumon Method makes on students. I immediately knew it was something I could achieve. I have always been an advocate for education, especially with my own children.”

The Kumon Method empowers preschool to high school aged children to become self-learners and is designed to advance math and reading skills while fostering a love for learning. It goes beyond traditional tutoring by actively developing critical thinking skills as children progress independently through a carefully crafted curriculum.

“I want my center to be a place for children to gain confidence and know they can reach their goals,” said Sianturi-Hastie. “I want to make a positive impact in the community and show kids and parents the positive results of the Kumon Method.”

Kumon sparks critical thinking, establishes a pattern of success and builds confidence that can lead to accelerated learning throughout life. Learn more about the Kumon Method today.
