Duck Donuts® Adds Puerto Rico to Expansion Plans

Franchise Agreement with Duck Donuts Puerto Rico, LLC Calls for Development of 3 Locations in Puerto Rico over the Next Three Years

February 19, 2019 // Franchising.com // MECHANICSBURG, PA - Duck Donuts, one of the nation’s fastest growing donut franchise companies, announced today expansion plans to bring Warm, Delicious and Made-to-Order!® donuts to Puerto Rico. In partnership with Puerto Rican natives Jorge L Ramos and Juan C Piñero, Duck Donuts Puerto Rico, LLC, the brand is set to develop three locations across the U.S. territory over the next three years, with its first location in San Juan Metropolitan Area.

Business partners Ramos and Piñero, join the Duck Donuts family with more than 20 years of experience as engineers in the structural steel and tank fabrication, construction, project management and real estate areas.

“We’ve been interested in investing in a new business area and a few months ago a friend told us about a warm, delicious donut with maple icing and chopped bacon that sparked our attention,” said Ramos. “After further researching Duck Donuts’ concept of made-to-order donuts and franchise opportunities, we knew this was a brand that would make a great addition to Puerto Rico’s welcoming and family-friendly culture.”

Duck Donuts specializes in warm, delicious and made-to-order donuts. Customers can create their own donut combination by choosing from a variety of coatings, toppings and drizzles, including traditional favorites such as chocolate icing with sprinkles and more adventurous creations such as maple icing with bacon. The family-friendly stores offer a viewing area where children and adults alike can watch their donuts being made. Duck Donuts also sells coffee, tea, donut breakfast sandwiches and now offers online ordering in many locations. About Duck Donuts

Duck Donuts was founded in 2006 by Russ DiGilio in Duck, North Carolina. His intention? To solve a family vacation problem: “Our family wanted a place to buy warm, delicious, made-to-order donuts, and when we couldn’t find one, we decided to start our own.”
