Penn Station East Coast Subs Launches Round-up Campaign For Down Syndrome Association Of Greater Cincinnati And Miami Valley Down Syndrome Association

Penn Station, Inc. also donates $50,000 to the National Down Syndrome Adoption Network

February 22, 2019 // Franchising.com // MILFORD, OHIO - Penn Station East Coast Subs is raising money for the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati (DSAGC) and the Miami Valley Down Syndrome Association (MVDSA) from March 1 to March 21 with a round-up campaign at all 47 restaurants in Cincinnati and all 15 restaurants in Dayton. Customers will be able to round up their order total with all of the proceeds going to the DSAGC for Cincinnati restaurants or the MVDSA for Dayton restaurants. Customers can either round up the change to the nearest dollar or round up extra dollars to the nearest five or 10.

Penn Station, Inc. is also donating an additional $50,000 to the National Down Syndrome Adoption Network, as well as continuing to sponsor the annual golf tournament hosted by the DSAGC.

“This is a cause our founder has been intimately involved with for more than 20 years,” said Craig Dunaway, president of Penn Station. “We’ve sponsored golf tournaments for the DSAGC, but this year we want to get Penn Station more directly involved with this round-up campaign and our monetary donation. We’re hopeful that customers will join us in donating to the local down syndrome foundations.”

The Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati (DSAGC)’s mission is to empower individuals, educate families, enhance communities and together, celebrate the extraordinary lives of people with Down syndrome. Donations enable DSACG to do such things as offer workshops for parents and self-advocates on IEP’s or healthy relationships, offer free of charge early intervention therapies, provide ‘New Parents’ baskets and taxi vouchers for adults with DS. DSACG also supports a diverse set of community groups as well as funds special events like DSAGC’s Independent Living Retreat.

The Miami Valley Down Syndrome Association (MVDSA) is dedicated to providing information, resources, and support to the Down syndrome community. The association serves individuals with Down syndrome from diagnosis through adulthood and resources more than 200 families in eleven counties in the Miami Valley. Additionally, the MVDSA provides an average of 70 Opportunity Award scholarships to provide up to $500 in life-enriching opportunities for individuals with Down syndrome, helping them to reach their fullest potential.
