Main Squeeze Juice Co. Continues Rapid Houston Expansion

NOLA-based juice and smoothie bar franchise set to open sixth local shop since 2017; 18 more planned in metro area over the next several years

August 28, 2019 // Franchising.com // NEW ORLEANS, La. - Main Squeeze Juice Company is continuing its unprecedented growth in the Houston area. Less than three years since opening its first area shop, the New Orleans-based juice and smoothie franchise is set to continue its Houston expansion in Atascocita this fall, and already has 18 more planned in the metro area over the next several years.

The new 1,800 square foot store, slated to open in September at 16402 W. Lake Houston Parkway, will be the sixth of nearly 20 locations Main Squeeze hopes to open in the area over the next few years. The location will also feature a drive thru for customers on the go. According to co-founder and CEO Thomas Nieto, the expansion will be accomplished through franchising and corporate-owned stores.

“Inside of the larger health and wellness industry, juicing has become a hot lifestyle market. But unlike fad diets and food crazes on the opposite end of the health spectrum, the all-natural juice bar has not only survived, but has grown and diversified to the point that it can no longer be called a trend with any seriousness,” said Nieto. “Through our expansion, we look forward to changing the lives of those people that are looking for a healthier and more convenient way of fulfilling their nutritional goals.”

Main Squeeze’s mission is to make healthy easier, and the company’s nutritionist-designed, superfood-centric menu does exactly that. It’s gluten-free and vegan menu offers a daily source of plant-based nutrition packed with natural and quick energy. The concept’s proprietary recipes feature chef-inspired cold-pressed juices and superfood smoothies, along with one-, two- and three-day juice cleanse programs, shots, and acai bowls created from organic and wild-harvested acai berries from the Amazon rainforest in Northeast Brazil.

In Texas alone, Main Squeeze has created 87 new jobs and has served surrounding communities over 90,924 cold-pressed juices, 67,832 superfood smoothies and 18,166 açaí bowls, which equates to over 179 tons of fruits and vegetables. The brand hopes to continue adding to these numbers and making healthy eating easier for more communities across the state.

“Health begins and ends with how you choose to fuel your body and your lifestyle,” said Nieto. “We strongly believe in reviving the idea of 'food as medicine' through our menu – combining the timeless simplicity of fruits and vegetables in a nourishing and refreshing way.”

To augment the company’s growth, Main Squeeze is seeking franchise partners who have a passion for wellness, clean eating, fitness, and community involvement. Including a franchise fee of $35,000, the total investment to open a 1,300-1,800 square-foot Main Squeeze Juice Co. store ranges from $300,000 - $595,000. A typical location will seat 15-25 people, and will retain approximately 10-15 employees.

“Main Squeeze has unlimited growth potential as we can operate in literally any type of location where millennials or young professionals exist,” added Nieto. “From colleges and universities to sports arenas, airports and malls, we are poised to grow everywhere. In smaller footprints, Main Squeeze is a perfect complement to businesses such as fitness studios, coffee houses and health food stores.”
