Fast-Growing Fitness Brand Opens Second of Three New Detroit Area Gyms

Blink Fitness (Blink), a premium-quality, affordable fitness brand with its unmistakable Mood Above Muscle® philosophy has other area fitness chains breaking a sweat. Today (On Thursday, September 26), Blink is hosting a grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting at its second Metro Detroit location in Redford from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Three-time NBA Champion Draymond Green, who owns the new 15,736 square foot Redford gym, will be in attendance at the grand opening. The team is celebrating the grand opening with a live DJ, local food vendors, a three-point competition and more. Blink Redford will also be giving away basketballs signed by Green.

Blink Fitness offers memberships typically starting at $15 per month and is running a special grand opening promotion for the month of September, is situated in the Redford Plaza shopping center on the corner of Telegraph Road and West Chicago. The fast-growing brand now has 90-plus gyms nationwide with locations coast-to-coast, including New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Detroit, Boston and Chicago.

“When I think back on what it was like in Saginaw when I was growing up, we didn’t have cool, positive places to work out and the gyms that did open were either too expensive, or dirty,” said Green. “That’s why it is our mission to create affordable options for people of all backgrounds to be excited about getting fit with our mood over muscle approach.”

Blink will mark the opening of its Redford location with an additional donation of 50 one-year memberships to the Detroit Police Athletic League (PAL). This $10,000 value continues Blink and Green's commitment to working with Detroit PAL to positively impact the lives of Detroit-area youth through sports. Detroit PAL serves thousands of children in the Redford area, and Blink is excited to continue its partnership with the organization.
