Local Restaurateurs Reignite the Fire with Opening of Firehouse Subs in Royal Palm Beach

October 01, 2019 // Franchising.com // ROYAL PALM BEACH, Fla. - Long-time Firehouse Subs Franchisees Ted Tallman, Shannon Sink and Diane Sink are thrilled to open the doors to their restaurant in Royal Palm Beach at 10229 Okeechobee Blvd., on Tuesday, October 1.

Firehouse Subs serves a variety of hot specialty subs, piled high with premium meats and cheeses that are sliced fresh daily in-restaurant and steamed together to bring out the ingredients’ natural flavors, served “Fully Involved®” with fresh produce and condiments. In addition to its signature subs, the restaurant offers a variety of catering options from sandwich and dessert platters to salads and snacks to fuel any occasion.

This is the fourth Firehouse Subs restaurant for the Sinks and the sixth restaurant for Tallman, and it is the second restaurant this group of business partners have opened together. This restaurant opening also marks the 11th restaurant in the West Palm Beach area.

The Sinks opened their first Firehouse Subs restaurant in 2017 in Jensen Beach followed by a restaurant in Stuart a year later. Before joining the Firehouse Subs team, Shannon Sink spent his career working in safety products, which is what drew him to the brand after learning about the work done through Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. He and his wife feel a personal connection to the impact made through the Foundation and the millions of dollars it has awarded to first responders and public safety organizations across the country.

Tallman has been a Franchisee and Area Representative with the brand for more than 15 years, working to recruit, develop and lead Franchisees to expand the brand’s presence in South Florida. He was part of the original group of Area Representatives when the company had less than 75 restaurants. Now, in its 25th year of business, the company has more than 1,175 restaurants across the country.

“I’ve spent half of my 30-year restaurant industry career with Firehouse Subs,” Tallman said. “For nearly two decades, I’ve been proud to lead the growth and success of the brand in South Florida, and I’m excited to bring our heartfelt service and flavorful food back to Royal Palm Beach.”

“It’s been an amazing experience to be part of a brand that gives back to the community in such a big way,” Sink said. “We had our first Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation donation event earlier this year, awarding $50,000 to local fire departments. There’s no greater feeling than helping the community you live and work in, and we look forward to continuing that work in Royal Palm Beach.”

These franchisees are dedicated to sharing the brand’s commitment to giving back through Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, which has granted more than $7.2 million in Florida. A portion of every sale at any Firehouse Subs in the U.S. benefits the Foundation, allowing the Foundation to achieve its mission of providing lifesaving equipment, funding and education to first responders and public safety organizations across the country.

The Royal Palm Beach Firehouse Subs restaurant is open from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week. The newly remodeled restaurant will offer third-party delivery and in-house catering services to accommodate occasions of all sizes, from office meetings to family gatherings.

In 2005, the Firehouse Subs founders established the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation with the mission of providing funding, lifesaving equipment and educational opportunities to first responders and public safety organizations. The 501(c)(3) Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has granted more than $44 million to hometown heroes in 49 states, Puerto Rico and Canada. Each restaurant recycles five-gallon pickle buckets, available to guests for a $2 donation to the Foundation. Donation canisters on register counters explain the nonprofit’s mission and collect spare change, while the Round Up Program allows guests to “round up” their bill to the nearest dollar. All funds raised benefit the Foundation.

About Firehouse Subs

Celebrating 25 years of business in 2019, Firehouse Subs® is a fast casual restaurant chain with a passion for Hearty and Flavorful Food, Heartfelt Service and Public Safety. Founded in 1994 by brothers and former firefighters Chris Sorensen and Robin Sorensen, Firehouse Subs is a brand built on decades of fire and police service, hot subs, steamed and piled high with the highest quality meats and cheeses and its commitment to saving lives through the establishment of the non-profit Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation®. The founders are the real deal, the food is their creation and the restaurant is built upon a family of franchise operators who share their same passion for generously serving food and community. This year, Firehouse of America, LLC (franchisor for the brand) will donate a portion of all purchases at U.S. Firehouse Subs restaurants to Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, resulting in a minimum donation of one million dollars. Firehouse Subs is consistently recognized as one of the leading brands in the U.S. among consumers.
