Buff City Soap Adding another Texas Location

Lifestyle brand continues Texas growth by adding second location

October 14, 2019 // Franchising.com // Memphis, Tenn. - Texas is getting squeaky clean. Buff City Soap - the Southern-based lifestyle brand changing the way people buy their everyday soap by providing plant-based alternatives - is opening its second Dallas-area location on October 12.

Located at 136 N. Main Drive, Buff City Soap houses a retail store and manufacturing Makery where employees handcraft soaps in front of customers. This is the second Buff City Soap location for Paige and Will Irby and Brandy Jacoby, who also own the Buff City Soap store in Allen. The partners plan to open at least 2 more North Texas locations in the coming years.

“We’re thrilled to be opening Buff City in Van Alstyne,” said Paige. “We provide such a unique customer experience and an outstanding product that we all love, and we wanted to share Buff City Soap with as many people in North Texas as possible.”

Prior to opening their Buff City locations, Paige worked as a Speech Pathologist at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, while her sister Brandy worked as a buyer and production manager for TransAmerica. Will still serves as the CEO of Cianna Medical.

Buff City Soap was founded in 2013 when Brad Kellum, a former firefighter paramedic discovered that his every day store-bought soap was packed with cow fat and other synthetic materials. He, along with his girlfriend and cofounder Jennifer Ziemianin, a registered nurse, began experimenting with a plant-based alternative in their garage.

Now, the brand offers traditional soap bars, along with a men’s care product line, plant-based laundry soap, pet care products and other accessories. Each shop includes a Makery, where employees handcraft each product in-store. Customers can customize their products. Furthering its customization promise, the shops host birthday parties, bachelorette nights and other events, and launched a subscription box service.

In each market, Buff City Soap designs unique soaps based on the community. The Van Alstyne store will offer four: Val Alstyne, VA All the Way, Sunset at Six and Haulin’ Hay.

“As Buff City Soap expands, we take pride in finding communities that are passionate about our plant-based products,” said CEO Justin Delaney. “We are excited to further establish the Buff City Soap brand in the Texas market by adding a second store in the Van Alstyne community. We are proud of our products and can’t wait to share them with the larger community.”

Buff City Soap has 24 locations open in nine states, including Tennessee, Texas, Arkansas, Kentucky, Colorado, Alabama, Mississippi and Florida. There are currently over 40 additional stores in various stages of development.
