American Dairy Queen Corporation Earns Top 30 Spot on Franchise Times Top 200+ List

World-Leading QSR Concept Ranked #27 On Prestigious List of Largest United States Franchises

October 17, 2019 // Franchising.com // MINNEAPOLIS, MN. - American Dairy Queen (ADQ) announced today that it has been ranked in the top 30 of the Franchise Times’ Top 200+ list. This list offers the most comprehensive ranking of the 500 largest franchise systems in the United States. The rankings are based on the DQ® global system sales and number of locations.

Being named to this ranking verifies the exceptional growth the company has experienced over the past year. In 2018, the brand generated over $4.5 billion in sales and added more than 40 locations. Currently, ADQ has more than 7,000 locations worldwide.

Franchise Times uses a combination of companies’ voluntary reports and the most recent franchise disclosure documents to rank the 500 largest franchise systems in the United States. To qualify for the ranking, companies must be a legal United States franchise, with its headquarters based in the United States or at least 10 percent of their total units located in the country. Franchisees must also own at least 15 percent of the company’s total units.

Maintaining its recipe for success throughout nearly 80 years, ADQ is currently focused on building freestanding drive-thru restaurants.
