Pirtek Lawrenceville is Sixth Pirtek Location in Metro Atlanta

Sports stadiums, industry, transportation help keep area full of economic vitality

January 28, 2020 // Franchising.com // Lawrenceville, Georgia - Steady economic activity in metro Atlanta has led to the opening of the area’s sixth Pirtek location: Pirtek Lawrenceville. The new Pirtek is starting out as a mobile-only location under the company’s Tier 2 program.

“The area has experienced a lot of growth, some new manufacturing plants and other general industry,” said Mike Nagle, Owner of Pirtek Lawrenceville in Lawrenceville, GA. “We also see expanding transportation and equipment rental activity in the area. There’s so much potential there.”

The city of Lawrenceville is on the northeastern edge of the Atlanta area and is the seat of Gwinnett County.

Pirtek’s Tier 2 mobile-only option enables entrepreneurs to start a franchise at a lower point of entry. Under Tier 2, a franchisee can keep the inventory in a small warehouse or storage facility and lease two vehicles. The standard Tier 1 model requires a franchisee to have a full Service & Supply Center staffed with six team members and at least two Mobile Service Vehicles. Tier 2 owners are expected to advance to a Tier 1 location in three years.

According to Nagle, the Atlanta-area Pirtek locations have benefited greatly from the presence of two major sports stadiums built in recent years: Mercedes Benz Stadium and Truist Park. The former is the home of the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons and the latter, the home of Major League Baseball’s Atlanta Braves.

“Because these are sports stadiums, they wanted the best of everything, including the newest models of any hydraulic-powered equipment on their construction sites,” said Nagle, who opened Pirtek Red Oak in 2007. “Customer demand for Pirtek services gained strength because of that.”

Nagle said that these projects, which continue to provide opportunities for Pirtek, were instrumental in breaking Atlanta out of the doldrums of a lingering economic recession years ago. “It was just the kickstart the city needed,” he said.
