British Swim School to Manage The Woodlands Foundation Aquatics Center

The premier water survival and stroke development company now offers expanded programming for all ages while providing Woodlands foundation residents and campers free access to the pool.

March 09, 2020 // Franchising.com // Pittsburgh, PA - British Swim School of Pittsburgh, the premier water survival, stroke development, and swim lesson company, has recently signed a multi-year management agreement with The Woodlands Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides residential and non-residential programs and services for children and adults with disabilities.

Beginning in January 2020, British Swim School of Pittsburgh began employing the aquatics staff and began managing The Woodlands Foundation’s Aquatic Center, located at 134 Shenot Road in Wexford, Pennsylvania. The agreement allows British Swim of School of Pittsburgh to offer a new “Aqua Active” membership program that provides aqua aerobics, pilates, therapy classes with expanded hours and open swim times. In exchange, British Swim School will continue to allow The Woodlands Foundation’s participants access to the pool.

“It was really a win-win for us and The Woodlands Foundation,” British Swim School of Pittsburgh owner Becky Grindle said. “Their aquatics center is such a beautiful facility, where we’ve been thrilled to be teaching since 2014. Now we can expand our offerings to bring a wide range of aquatics programs to residents of all ages.”

Denise Balkovec, acting executive director for The Woodlands Foundation, agrees.

“We are proud to have worked with such a well-respected and well-run program for the past 6 years, and excited about the expansion of our relationship with British Swim School,” she said.

British Swim School will also offer an additional day of swim lessons and expand their new special abilities program at the location with flexible hours available to provide private lessons. They are also participating in the Medicare Silver Sneakers program for seniors.
