Melting Pot Turns Up the Heat with Aggressive Franchise Growth Initiative

World’s Largest Fondue Franchise Sets Development Goal to Grow by More Than 30 Locations in Five Years

August 05, 2020 // Franchising.com // TAMPA, Fla. - The Melting Pot Restaurants, Inc., the world’s premier fondue restaurant and a leading polished casual dining franchise, is dipping into a new franchise growth strategy that sets out to expand the legacy restaurant in new markets coast to coast.

Melting Pot’s franchise development strategy stands to grow the brand by more than 30 locations through the end of 2024. The brand is targeting key trade areas such as Southern California, the New England area, Texas, Arkansas and prime markets such as Memphis, Tenn.; Breckenridge, Colo.; and Des Moines, Iowa.

Today’s announcement comes at a pivotal point for the iconic restaurant. Amid a strategic “brand evolution,” Melting Pot has developed several innovative initiatives to support franchisees. The brand launched new menu items, as well as a new Melting Pot Evolution remodel program. Similarly, a new logo and fresh branding has been introduced. As a result of COVID-19 shifts, Melting Pot has implemented Melting Pot To-Go and successfully ignited an exclusive delivery program with DoorDash® that has extended the Melting Pot experience into homes for loyal and new fans. Franchise owners that opt-in for the new Melting Pot Evolution model can build in the full suite of new design and location amenities, or can be selective of the elements to incorporate. The brand evolution will roll out to all locations by 2022, excluding locations that have had recent remodels.

“Now is the perfect time to be aggressive with our franchise development strategy. We’re positioned for growth and backed by over four decades of success, a refreshed brand identity and operational simplicity unique in the full-service dining space,” said David Boatright, Senior Director of Franchise Development at Front Burner, the restaurant management company for Melting Pot. “I’m excited to grow our footprint with talented franchisees in the months and years ahead.”

Prospective franchisees are attracted to Melting Pot’s strong unit economics, ease of operations, attractive food costs and a premier experiential concept that brings to life a distinctive menu. These attributes set the brand apart in the full-service restaurant category. Franchisees benefit from Melting Pot’s robust and dedicated restaurant support center, with more than 50 experienced team members supporting 100 restaurants, and the brand’s supportive and familial culture. Its strong principles allow franchisees the opportunity to give back to the community and important causes. In fact, the brand has donated over $13 million to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, which treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

As the world’s largest fondue franchise, Melting Pot is beloved for its interactive dining experience where diners can customize the menu to their liking with up to four courses. Guests can enjoy a variety of unique entrées, salads and unforgettable desserts that are perfect for a casual family night out, as well as special occasions like anniversaries, date nights, birthdays and much more.

Melting Pot is awarding franchise opportunities to owner-operators who are passionate about customer service. Restaurant experience is not necessary, but preferred.
