Pizza Factory Hosts Annual Campaign, Bringing Awareness To Childhood Hunger

Iconic Neighborhood Pizzeria Joins No Kid Hungry During Hunger Awareness Month in Dine, Shop & Share Initiative

September 18, 2020 // Franchising.com // OAKHURST, Calif. - Pizza Factory announced its six week campaign to raise funds and awareness for childhood hunger. Throughout September until October 16, Pizza Factory will be donating $1 from every order through their app to No Kid Hungry in honor of September being Hunger Action Month.

Pizza Factory is committed to donating a minimum of $5,000 to support its mission as a franchise, bring awareness to an important cause and help the kids and families within the communities its restaurants serve. “Back to school” may look different this year, but as children start the new school year, millions are still struggling to get the most important school supply: food. In fact, 1 in 4 kids in the United States could face hunger this year because of the coronavirus. When customers dine, shop or share for No Kid Hungry, they can help give kids the meals they need to learn.

“Pizza Factory believes it’s important to eat good and do good,” said Mary Jane Riva, Pizza Factory CEO. “That was the inspiration behind our partnership with No Kid Hungry many years ago and our locations are always eager to participate and give back to their communities. This year especially, with COVID-19 creating a different back to school experience, millions of children are at risk of losing healthy meals that they depend on. Our goal in this six-week initiative is to make a positive impact on the children in our communities by raising money to help them receive the meals the deserve. Our team is excited to be continuing our annual partnership and seeing the difference we can make.”

No Kid Hungry has a plan to make sure kids are fed, both during this crisis and in its aftermath. Through a combination of emergency grants, strategic assistance, advocacy and awareness, No Kid Hungry is equipping communities with the resources they need.

Unlike other quick-service pizzerias, everything on Pizza Factory’s menu is prepared fresh with ingredients, such as hand-grated 100 percent mozzarella cheese, slow-cooked meat sauce and meatballs that are hand rolled in-house. As a differentiator, the concept also offers a wider menu variety than most with hot and cold sandwiches, pastas, chicken wings and more.
