Lucia and Keith Lubbock bring Southern candy franchise to Sunset Walk at Margaritaville

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - October 20, 2020 - River Street Sweets - Savannah’s Kitchen, one of Entrepreneur’s top New Franchises for 2020, welcomes new franchisees, Lucia and Keith Lubbock of Texas, to our candy family as we continue to expand in the Southeast. “We looked at several potential locations in the Orlando area, and I fell in love with Sunset Walk at Margaritaville the moment I saw it. The ambience, music, and neighboring stores form a grand, fun community for locals and tourists alike,” said Lucia. This will be the third franchise location opened in 2020, starting with The Battery Atlanta, GA in February and Asbury Park, NJ in July.

A grand opening for the Sunset Walk store is planned for Friday, October 23, 2020, with a ribbon cutting and free samples beginning at 11:00 am.

“When we decided to open a franchise, we looked at lots of different ones, but our hearts were set the day we first entered the original candy store in Savannah, GA. The moment we smelled those Pralines, we knew we had to bring these Southern treats to central Florida!” said Lucia. “We both have a passion for desserts and candies which is what led us to open River Street Sweets - Savannah’s Kitchen.” The Lubbock’s and the Strickland family are thrilled the sweet shop will be so close to Disney World as it is a longtime favorite for both families.

River Street Sweets - Savannah’s Kitchen will be located at 3235 Margaritaville Blvd at Sunset Walk in Kissimmee and will feature the same Southern confections that guests have come to love since the flagship store opened in 1973 in Savannah: World Famous Pralines®, handmade Chocolate Loggerheads® and homemade ice cream and gelato, just to name a few.

Friends, fellow members of the Kissimmee Chamber and the Strickland family will be on hand to help officially welcome River Street Sweets - Savannah’s Kitchen to visitors in the Orlando area and the people of Kissimmee at the grand opening.
