Experiential retailer continues expansion in Virginia

July 27, 2021 // Franchising.com // Roanoke, VA. - Buff City Soap, a Southern-based lifestyle brand changing the way people buy their everyday soap by providing plant-based alternatives, is opening its first soap ‘makery’ in Roanoke on July 29th. The new makery will be located at 2235 Colonial Ave., beside Mission Barbeque and Fresh Market in Tower Center. Buff City Soap is known for its handmade, plant-based soap and body products. To celebrate, they are offering the first 50 people through the doors at the Roanoke location each day- Thursday, July 29th - Sunday, August 1st, Free soap for a year!

Unlike supermarket alternatives, Buff City Soap creates high-quality products free of harsh chemicals, detergents, dyes, animal fats, and sulfates. By giving customers the chance to see the whole making process live in each Soap Makery, Buff City Soap is disrupting the consumer goods industry by focusing on the transparency of ingredients and process.

“We are very excited to bring Buff City Soap to Roanoke,” said owner Wade Dempsey. “To have the local community interact and experience the clean, fresh, whimsicality of Buff City Soap, gives us immense joy in what we do.”

Each Buff City Soap store offers traditional soap bars, body butters, shower oils, and bath bombs, along with a facial care line, men’s care product line, plant-based laundry soap, pet care products and bath accessories. Each shop includes a Makery, where employees handcraft each product in-store and customers can customize their products. Furthering its customization promise, the shops also host birthday parties, ladies’ nights and other group events.

“We chose Buff City Soap for many reasons, but primarily because of our immediate love of the products. We loved the company’s approach to offer plant- based goodness with every product, and we were impressed with the company’s overall vision for growth,” said Dempsey.

The Roanoke store hours will be Monday - Saturday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. February through October, and Monday - Saturday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. November through January.
