November 02, 2021 // Franchising.com // The Colony, TX. - School of Rock, a performance-based music education franchise, announces the grand opening of a new school in The Colony, Texas. The event will take place at 4897 TX-121 suite 100, The Colony, TX 75056, on Tuesday, November 9 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. CST and on Saturday, November 13 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. CST. On Tuesday, the event will offer a ceremonial guitar smashing (School of Rock’s version of a ribbon-cutting) with both town mayors, ribbon-cutting with the chamber of commerce, tours of the school, and special enrollment discounts. On Saturday, the grand opening event will offer live performances from School of Rock bands, food, fun, giveaways and more.

School of Rock The Colony is owned by Kristin and Ray Kidd and Natalie and Jake Kidd. Kristin and Ray have been running School of Rock franchises for over 12 years, and they are personally involved in the management and growth of all of the schools in the DFW area. For the last two years, Kristin and Ray have partnered with Natalie and Jake Kidd (Ray’s brother and his wife) to own and operate a School of Rock in College Station. Ray and Jake grew up in a highly musical atmosphere, living under the same roof as a music minister, band instructor, and singer for the Vocal Majority. Kristin has experience running one of Texas’ largest recording studios, working with artists such as Justin Timberlake, Timbaland, The Jonas Brothers, and more. When they all started talking about their future, they knew they wanted to bring School of Rock to their hometown.

School of Rock provides students of all ages an exciting and engaging music lesson experience, which includes bass lessons, guitar lessons, singing lessons, drum lessons, and piano lessons. Drawing from all styles of rock and roll, School of Rock students learn theory and techniques via songs from legendary artists such as Aretha Franklin, Billy Joel and Led Zeppelin. Thanks to the school’s performance-based approach, students around the world have gained superior musical proficiency, with some moving on to record deals and larger platforms such as American Idol, The Voice and Broadway.
