Office with Nearly Four Decades of Staffing Expertise Makes Strategic Move to Advance Business and Better Serve Job Seekers

Known for consistently supporting the area’s most well-known companies and matching them with highly motivated job seekers, the TempForce office is revamping its presence.

Under the continuing ownership of Carolynn Buchanan, the office is transitioning to Spherion Staffing on January 31, 2022. Buchanan is excited about the future of the business and the opportunity to leverage the resources of Spherion and its parent company, while remaining just as committed to her clients and candidates in Gainesville.

“I’ve been working in the staffing industry since 1977 and have owned the TempForce office in Gainesville since 1985. It has been an interesting journey, but through it all I’ve learned the ins and outs of the staffing industry and have made some incredible relationships along the way,” said Carolynn. “We’re excited for this evolution of our business, and are incredibly appreciative of the support we’ve received from our clients, candidates and staff. We’ve always believed our success is driven by our ability to help those around us, and are confident that this transition will help us better serve the Gainesville community.”

Carolynn began working in the staffing industry at just 23 years old as an interviewer for a personnel agency and quickly moved into a managerial position. From there, she took ownership of the company and eight years later purchased TempForce of Gainesville. Carolynn has been involved with her local SHRM chapter for 20 years and currently serves as the Legislative Affairs Director. Her daughter Amber has been working at the Gainesville TempForce office for over 25 years, holding various positions along the way, including office assistant, staffing administrator and director of customer relations. Currently, she serves as the office’s branch manager. Gary, Carolynn’s husband and Amber’s father, is also a silent partner in the business and a big supporter of Carolynn’s. A Vietnam veteran, he served the Gainesville community for 28 years as a deputy sheriff. Together, they look forward to this next chapter in their business and to continue helping their clients, candidates and staff in the Gainesville community.

“In many cases, it is rare to be able to directly access the owner of any business, but that is what makes our office - and my mom - so invaluable,” said Amber. “She has always made herself extremely accessible to our clientele, and her integrity, honesty and genuineness is what has continued to make our business so successful. This transfer to Spherion will certainly help us better service our clients and give us the resources to build even stronger relationships within the community.”
