Skill Samurai and HobbyTown Announce Partnership to Host Upcoming Events and Workshops

May 16, 2022 // Franchising.com // Huntersville, NC - Skill Samurai, a STEM, coding, and children’s education franchise, announced it is creating a national strategic partnership with HobbyTown, a national franchise specializing in hobby, STEM and educational products.

HobbyTown will provide activity center space for the purpose of hosting Skill Samurai events, classes, and workshops on an ongoing basis. The pilot program will begin at the HobbyTown store in Southfield, MI in June with a nationwide rollout at additional locations thereafter.

“HobbyTown is continually seeking to explore and find new opportunities to enhance the customer experience in our franchise stores,” said HobbyTown President Bob Wilke. “As a company we pride ourselves on offering products that inspire and engage hands and minds to develop new skills while having fun. We are excited to partner with Skill Samurai to provide in-store opportunities for our younger customers to further develop STEM related skills that will prepare them for further education and a future career.”

The partnership between HobbyTown and Skill Samurai was fostered by strategic franchise advisory company FranDevCo.

“It is our pleasure to bring together two franchise brands into a mutually beneficial partnership,” said FranDevCo President Sung Ohm. “HobbyTown and Skill Samurai share a common goal of increasing STEM education opportunities and the important life skills that come from it. HobbyTown’s franchise locations will provide the perfect setting for Skill Samurai’s career-readiness education programs.”

This strategic partnership will enhance the value propositions and help grow the customer base of both businesses. It will also increase exposure of STEM education into the hobby industry while also introducing important science and math skills to a new audience.

“We are excited to be partnering with HobbyTown and be able to bring our Career Readiness education to more communities,” said Skill Samurai President Jeff Hughes.
