theCoderSchool Brings New Location to Carrollwood

June 22, 2022 // Franchising.com // SOUTH BAY, Calif. - theCoderSchool - whose motto is, “Learn to code. Change the world.” - is growing in the Tampa Bay area, announcing its upcoming location in Carrollwood. The new coding school, that will engage kids in fun classes while teaching them essential coding skills for future innovation, is opening on June 25th and will be located at 13129 N Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL 33618, located in the same plaza as Fresh Market and Bed, Bath & Beyond.

theCoderSchool Carrollwood will be owned and operated by Lesly and Michael Olavarria, who have already brought two locations to the Tampa Bay area. No strangers to the world of code, the husband-and-wife duo were inspired to bring the concept to their area after seeing how coding has helped to elevate their professional careers in IT. Joining the Olavarrias is Autumn Koutsos, general manager of theCoderSchool New Tampa, South Tampa and Carrollwood. Koustos brings a background in education and child development, and became involved with theCoderSchool after discovering how coding provides children with the tools they need to be successful. Together, the trio plans on bringing additional locations to the area, as they’ve found that the knowledge of coding will be at the core of many industries for future generations.

“We’ve experienced how powerful learning a programming language can be as it elevated us both in our careers,” Lesly said. “With five children of our own, the initial desire to teach young children to code came when our youngest kids began to learn the basics of coding in school at age six. When we saw the potential coding had on a developing mind and learned more about theCoderSchool, we immediately jumped at the franchise opportunity.”

theCoderSchool Carrollwood will be hosting a grand opening event, June 25th from 1-3 p.m., offering snacks, drinks, as well as a raffle with prizes. The Olavarrias will also be providing a 10% discount on the first month of classes for the first 20 people who sign up at the event.

“It has become apparent that theCoderSchool isn’t only a need but a want of both parents and children,” said Koustos. “While we offer in-person and online classes, we’ve found that students eager to learn in-person at our New Tampa and South Tampa locations, with classes consistently being full. It makes sense to expand our footprint and provide another location for students to learn whether its in-person or online, especially with popularity of our current summer camps. I’m excited to join Lesly and Michael as we bring coding to the kids of Carrollwood and help them accelerate their futures.”

Founded by Hansel Lynn and incubated with the help of his best friend, Wayne Teng, theCoderSchool was built to provide children aged 7 to 18 years with a welcoming environment to develop computer programming skills. theCoderSchool uses a variety of platforms to teach many coding languages, such as HTML, CSS, Python, JavaScript and more. Every Code Coaching lesson is customized with the help of trained Code Coaches® who use a 2-on-1 approach to teaching.

“We are thrilled to see the Olavarrias expand their footprint and bring coding to more and more communities across the Tampa Bay area,” said Lynn. “With their background in IT, Lesly and Michael have seen firsthand the benefits of coding. I’m excited for them to share their knowledge with parents and students, helping the next generation start off on the right foot.”
