Complete Weddings + Events Aims to Raise $100K in Latest Philanthropic Effort

Wedding Entertainment Franchise Begins Annual ‘Do Good Together’ Fundraising Campaign

September 14, 2022 // Franchising.com // OMAHA, Neb. -  Complete Weddings + Events is once again embarking on its annual philanthropic campaign with a major fundraising effort.

In September and October 2022, the 10th year of this effort for the Do Good Together initiative, Complete Weddings + Events has set its sights on raising $100,000 over two months for two surgical units in West Africa.

“The past decade’s partnership in the Do Good Together initiative has been among the most fulfilling work our company has ever undertaken,” said Complete Weddings + Events CEO Eric Maas. “We are so proud of our efforts since 2013, and we’re excited to take another step forward by helping women and children in West Africa with our largest fundraising goal to date. It truly shows our franchise owners, employees, and customers that our hard work and success empowers us to help others.”

The Do Good Together initiative, in which Complete Weddings + Events works in partnership with Global Partners in Hope (GPiH), has accomplished several projects in West Africa. Through September and October 2022, Complete Weddings + Events and other partners in the wedding industry will continue working together to build sustainable growth in Togo, West Africa and providing services for women and children.

After raising $100,000 over the past three years, building clean water wells and constructing a medical center, the fundraising and donation efforts in 2022 will be put towards building surgical centers allowing for procedures like C-sections and others necessary to save the lives of mothers and children - a need directly requested when Complete Weddings + Events franchise owners visited Africa earlier this year.

“I’ve always been a supporter of this effort and have been inspired by other owners raving about the impact when they returned from their trips, but it was truly eye-opening to experience it personally,” said Manhattan, KS owner Scott Karnes, one of the franchisees selected to travel to West Africa in March. “We asked what they needed, and every nurse said they needed to be able to perform these essential procedures. We got back and immediately began stressing the need to bump up our efforts. I’m proud that others have agreed and that we have brand’s backing on this heightened goal.”

In the first nine years of its partnership with GPiH, Complete Weddings + Events has dedicated one month to its annual fundraising campaign each year by donating 3% of sales to the Do Good Together initiative. The same will be done this year, but now over a two-month stretch throughout both September and October.

“Global Partners in Health has been the perfect organization to work with because the money we contribute goes directly to the projects and we have the opportunity to go see the progress first-hand,” said Maas. “We have a unique ability to serve a purpose and fill a need, and that is so inspiring as we get our 2022 campaign underway.”
