Genghis Grill Reveals New Restaurant Design of the Future

America’s leading Bowl Concept Focuses on Fundamentals with Guest and Team Members Experience at the Forefront

October 06, 2022 // Franchising.com // DALLAS - Genghis Grill, the nation’s leading fresh bowl concept, has revealed a new restaurant design that focuses on the fundamentals that make Genghis Grill great, while keeping guest and team member experiences at the forefront of the new prototype.

Set to debut early 2023, the new prototype will feature a more modern design, becoming a fast-casual service model with an optimized layout for operational ease.  The updated plan integrates the latest technology, allowing guests to be in and out in under 15 minutes of placing an order through the kiosk or a Genghis team member. Additionally, the brand is further expanding its off-premise business to meet the demand for convenience and healthy eating. What was once only 10% of business has grown to 40% and Genghis is looking to grow that even higher. To support these incremental revenue and guest channels, the restaurant prototype includes a separate to-go order staging and pick-up area, multiple curbside parking spots and the latest quick mobile-ordering technology into the guest experience.

The new design reduces the footprint from 5,000 square feet to 2,100 square feet, offering better real estate options, lower rent, cheaper buildout costs for franchisees and less talent shortage issues. Despite the smaller format, the prototype stays true to the brand’s roots of offering customization and a broad appeal that caters to various flavor preferences and lifestyles with more than 80 fresh ingredients.

Earlier this year, Genghis Grill launched a franchise incentive offering new qualified single and multi-unit franchisees a reduced franchise fee of $5,000 per location, $0 in development fees (normally $75,000) and up-to $150,000 in royalties waived over the initial two years. This deal is still available for entrepreneurs interested in signing a single unit or multi-unit deal with a maximum of five units through the end of 2022. The first unit must be opened within 12 months of franchise agreement signing.

All locations in the system are on-target to be fully remodeled in the next four years.”
