Cicis Pizza in Chattanooga Welcomes New Ownership

Iconic Endless Pizza Buffet in Tennessee Now Under Ownership of Entrepreneurial Dream Team

November 07, 2022 // Franchising.com // CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Cicis Pizza announced today the new ownership of its Chattanooga restaurant with husband-and-wife duo Meg and Aaron Wasik, who officially took ownership of the location on August 16. Cicis has been a staple in the Chattanooga community for over 20 years under the previous ownership of Steve and Barbie Potts. Steve passed away earlier this year.

“Before he passed, Steve and I wanted to make sure we found new owners who were as qualified and as passionate about the business as we were,” said Barbie, who still owns the Cicis location in Hixson. “When we met Meg, Aaron and their family, we felt confident that they would lead Cicis through its next 20 years and beyond. I’ve been working closely with the Wasiks throughout this process, and know that Steve would have been thrilled to have them carry on our legacy in Chattanooga.”

Meg and Aaron Wasik have been business owners since 2014 when they opened their first franchise with a cabinet refurbishing company in Orlando. Since then, they have built an investment portfolio that includes a laundromat, rental property and an ambulance company. The couple always knew that they wanted to own a pizza restaurant, and also plan on getting their children involved in the business.

“Steve and Barbie built something really special here in Chattanooga,” said Meg. “Barbie has been so hopeful throughout this transition and we’re honored that she and Steve entrusted our family to continue serving residents in Hamilton County. We hope to deliver the same level of service that the Potts’ did for the last 20 years.”

Since taking ownership, the Wasiks have been working closely with Barbie and the Chattanooga store manager, Justin Boulware to learn the ins and outs of the business. Boulware has worked with the brand since he was 15, stepping into the manager role amidst pandemic-induced challenges. Meg and Aaron also plan to do a full remodel of the restaurant, starting with a refreshed salad bar that includes new topping options.

“We’re incredibly appreciative for the time both Steve and Barbie dedicated to the Chattanooga store are pleased to welcome Aaron and Meg as a part of the Cicis family,” said Jeff Hetsel, President and COO of Cicis. “They’ve shown a lot of success with their various business ventures, and their passion for the brand made it a no-brainer to work with them. We can’t think of a more fitting pair to take over operations.”
