Shoney’s® Concludes its 75th Anniversary Celebration with National Free Hot Fudge Cake Day this Thursday, December 1, 2022

November 30, 2022 // Franchising.com // America -  Shoney’s will wrap up its 75th anniversary celebration with a holiday tradition it created, treating its valued guests to FREE Hot Fudge Cake.

Captain Obvious here yet the day is called National FREE Hot Fudge Cake Day, which lands on the first day of the last month of 2022, the 75th anniversary of the All-American restaurant industry pioneer. This Thursday (December 1, 2022), the icon is offering its best-selling dessert, a Hot Fudge Cake, featuring vanilla ice cream in the middle of two slices of fudge cake, topped with whipped cream and a cherry FOR FREE, with NO PURCHASE REQUIRED, ALL DAY at ALL Shoney’s while supplies last. Shoney’s serves over 2 million Hot Fudge Cakes each year and for one day a year everyone gets one for free.

“Shoney’s continues to shine and will keep its annual promise to its loyal fans and new guests to show them our appreciation on this day,” said Mr. David Davoudpour, Shoney’s Chairman and CEO. “Shoney’s National FREE Hot Fudge Cake Day is their day; we just get to enjoy it with them.”

When it opened its doors in 1947, Shoney’s became the epitome of the family dining experience and continues to be recognized for that 75 years later. It is consistently praised for having the best rating for value among all family dining chains while also being hailed for its service, menu variety and diners’ recommendations.

Since acquiring the great American eatery in 2007, Mr. Davoudpour has been on a driven and spirited mission to reinvigorate and revitalize Shoney’s, a family-friendly, southern-style restaurant brand. Shoney’s is one of the first and has always been one of the most popular, family casual dining concepts in the United States.
