Annex Brands Announces New Chief Financial Officer

January 17, 2023 // Franchising.com // SAN DIEGO, CA - Annex Brands, Inc. is pleased to announce the promotion of TanaSue Carpenter as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

TanaSue joined the company in June 2012 as the Director of Accounting, and in 2018, was promoted to Executive Director of Finance & Controller. She was promoted again in November 2020 to Vice President of Finance—the first woman to hold this position in the company’s history. As a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of California, as well as a Certified Franchise Executive (CFE), TanaSue handles the design, implementation, and supervision of all accounting functions and systems for Annex Brands.

On Dec. 1, the Annex Brands Board of Directors promoted TanaSue to CFO, formally replacing Patrick Edd, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), who has been functioning as the company’s CFO since 1997.

“For over ten years, TanaSue has been an integral member of our leadership team leading the Accounting Department,” Edd said. “Her new title recognizes her efforts and contributions and is much deserved.”

As only the second CFO in Annex Brands history, TanaSue will take on new cross-departmental responsibilities that prioritize the strategic financial direction of the company’s franchise system.

“I’m looking forward to continuing to improve and support the franchise system, while working with all departments to develop a cohesive process, designed to save time and increase profitability for franchisees,” Carpenter said.
