Goldfish Swim School Franchisee Honored With MVP Award by Multi-Unit Franchisee Magazine

Alex Tyler recognized at annual conference for his dedication to community service, commitment to giving back and water safety efforts in Belize

May 11, 2023 // Franchising.com // TROY, Mich. - Multi-Unit Franchisee Magazine has recognized Goldfish Swim School franchisee Alex Tyler with the Noble Cause Award at its annual MVP (Most Valuable Performer) Awards held during this year’s Multi-Unit Franchising Conference on April 25-28 in Las Vegas. The Noble Cause Award is awarded to passionate franchisees who offer unwavering support for those in need.

“Winning the Noble Cause Award is a testament to Alex’s unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in the world,” said Chris McCuiston, CEO and co-founder of Goldfish Swim School. “His dedication to teaching children how to swim and providing educational opportunities is truly inspiring to the entire system and we are proud to have him as a part of the Goldfish Swim School family."

Tyler, franchisee of two Goldfish Swim School Illinois locations that are open in St. Charles and Glen Ellyn, and six more that are being developed in Portland, OR, is honored for teaching water safety education and swim lessons to children in a remote fishing village in Gales Point, Belize. He joined Goldfish in 2013, at the age of 23, with a passion for swimming and desire to make a positive impact in the lives of children through his love of making the water a safe and fun place for kids of all ages.

“As a lifelong swimmer and water safety advocate, I saw an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children when I first visited the village in 2014,” said Tyler. “Through the support of Goldfish Swim School, we have been able to expand our efforts and provide not only swim lessons but also other supplies and repairs that have helped improve facilities and instruction. I am grateful for the opportunity to give back in this way and I look forward to continuing this work for years to come."

Every year, Tyler coordinates fundraising efforts before each trip and donations have led to the installation of internet service plus tuition aid for the students of Gales Point to attend high school. The trip has become a staple for the Goldfish Swim School franchisees, with more owners and instructors volunteering annually.

Goldfish Swim School Franchising believes in the importance of giving back and living by its core values, which include having and displaying integrity, compassion and trust at every turn, from the franchisor level all the way to the individual franchisees and team members. Tyler was also recognized as a Core Value Winner by Goldfish Swim School Franchising in 2021.
