Scooter’s Coffee® Day of Giving on May 19 to Help Provide Summer Camp Experience to Children in Foster Care

May 16, 2023 // Franchising.com // As summer approaches, Scooter’s Coffee stores are teaming up with a local nonprofit to provide children in foster care an opportunity to attend a life-changing summer camp in Southeast Missouri.

On Friday, May 19, 2023, several Scooter’s Coffee locations throughout Southeast Missouri and Northeast Arkansas are hosting a Day of Giving event to support Restore the Wonder, a nonprofit that engages the hearts of children in foster care and helps them enjoy life while developing meaningful and positive relationships.

During the Day of Giving, Scooter’s Coffee Franchisees Bart and Keri Vandeven, and Robert and Elizabeth Gray, will donate 50% of customer sales from May 19 to Restore the Wonder. Local participating locations also will collectively match customer donations to Restore the Wonder, up to $10,000 on May 19.&

“Being part of the Scooter’s Coffee family allows us to give back to important causes and missions in the communities we serve,” said Scooter’s Coffee Franchisees Bart and Keri Vandeven. “So many children are forced to live a life that many of us will never be able to understand, and we are honored to partner with Restore the Wonder to give them the best week of their lives. It’s truly an honor and blessing to provide these children with a fun and loving experience that will provide a lifetime of memories.”

Last year, Restore the Wonder provided 39 children with its impactful, "For the Children" Foster Care Camp experience. This year, the nonprofit hopes to welcome approximately 70 kids to its faith-based camp.

“These camps were created to restore wonder in foster children and bring hope to the dark parts of their story,” said Restore the Wonder Founder Chad Fisher. “My personal mission is to remind them that what they have been though doesn’t determine where they will end up. I’ve heard numerous stories about how camp can change the lives of kids.”

Through community Day of Giving events, Scooter’s Coffee extends its core values, which are Integrity, Love, Humility, and Courage. Customers can enjoy hand-crafted drinks and baked-from-scratch treats while supporting this important cause. In addition, customers can help celebrate the partnership with Restore the Wonder by enjoying a free Brewed Coffee between Monday, May 15 and Friday, May 19, while supplies last at these participating locations.
