Goodcents and Alzheimer's Association Partner To Raise Funds and Awareness

June 01, 2023 // Franchising.com // DE SOTO, Kan. - The Goodcents Foundation and the Alzheimer’s Association – Heart of America Chapter, announce a new partnership created to raise funds for research and educate the community about Alzheimer’s disease and the toll it takes on families. The Alzheimer’s Association is the largest nonprofit funder of Alzheimer’s research.

“We are proud to support the Alzheimer’s Association in its mission to deliver funding for much-needed research, provide care and support for those affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias and fight for critical research and care initiatives at the state and federal level,” said Laurie Bisogno, chair of the Goodcents Foundation.

In June, the Alzheimer’s Association will benefit from two fundraising campaigns in Goodcents locations around the nation. A monthlong campaign will invite Goodcents guests to donate $1, $3, $5 or another amount for Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month at the register or online.

Additionally, 50 cents from every Goodcents To Go meal sold during June will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association as part of the franchise brand’s campaign, “Eat Good, Do Good.” Last year, the Goodcents Foundation donated $25,000 to the Alzheimer’s Association, and the donation was triple-matched by an anonymous donor.

In the fall, the Goodcents Foundation will promote educational opportunities and facilitate Goodcents teams and volunteer opportunities at local Walk to End Alzheimer’s events.

“We look forward to walking alongside our partners at Goodcents as we move together toward a cure,” said Joan Cabell, development director of the Alzheimer’s Association – Heart of America Chapter. “A portion of all money we raise is dedicated to research. This partnership will make a significant difference in the lives of individuals with Alzheimer’s and their care partners.”

The Alzheimer’s Association also will be featured on the Goodcents Foundation’s new website, social media and restaurant collateral.

All proceeds collected by Goodcents restaurants for this fundraising effort stay in the local communities through matches made between each restaurant and its corresponding local Alzheimer’s Association chapter.

“Goodcents operates with a strong commitment to the communities we serve. We are excited about our partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association, because funds raised will stay in the local communities where they are being raised,” said Rebecca Murray, vice president of marketing at Goodcents. “With the help of Goodcents’ guests, franchisees and team members, we look forward to helping the Alzheimer’s Association bring an end to this disease.”
