Coffee shop to celebrate grand opening of Columbus, GA restaurant with free coffee for a year*

June 08, 2023 // Franchising.com // COLUMBUS, Ga. - Iced Capp® beverages, Timbits® and more will soon be available in the Peach State with Tim Hortons ® headed south!

The coffee and bakery restaurant founded in Canada and in the northern U.S. is bringing its famous iced and hot coffee, donuts, breakfast sandwiches and refreshing cold bevs to Georgia with the opening of its first location June 16th. Located at 6741 Veterans Pkwy. in Columbus, Tims is excited to say “Good morning!” to its new neighbors by giving free iced or hot coffee for a year to the first 50 cars to order through the drive thru on opening day.* Eligibility is limited to one person per car.

The grand opening will feature giveaways, prizes and an official ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Columbus Chamber of Commerce. Drive thru opens at 5 a.m. and guests can expect WCGQ-FM to host a live radio remote broadcast onsite from 9-11 a.m. Tims will celebrate its opening all day long with free samples and games.

“We’re ready to open our doors in Georgia and serve our new Columbus neighbors, as well as Tims fans from across the state, including Georgia-based Canadians who have been eager to have a Tims closer to home,” said President of Tim Hortons USA, Katerina Glyptis. “Tim Hortons takes great pride in our community values and hospitality, and we’re excited to introduce that to Georgia with our high-quality coffee, other cold and hot drinks, and food offerings!”

Tim Hortons also serves a variety of beverage options, including cold brew, hot and iced lattes, its famous Iced Capp® beverages, TimsBoost Energy Infusions, Tim Hortons Refreshers and more. Guests can also enjoy quality food options like made-to-order breakfast sandwiches with freshly cracked eggs, hand-dipped and glazed donuts, and a variety of donut holes affectionately known as “Timbits.”

Tim Hortons’ new Columbus coffee shop will be open every day from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. and serve guests through its double drive-thru and dine-in seating. It also provides an integrated digital experience through the Tim Hortons app with mobile order and pay, delivery, and the Tims Rewards loyalty program, allowing guests to earn points and redeem on Tims favorites.

The inaugural Tims in Georgia is in the heart of Columbus, with other locations in Georgia.

Engaging with the community is key for every Tim Hortons restaurant. Every year on Tim Hortons Camp Day, 100 percent of purchases from every coffee sold are donated to Tim Hortons Foundation Camps, which support underserved youth. In addition, the annual week-long Smile Cookie campaign donates 100% of the purchase price from Smile Cookies to local charitable and non-profit organizations in every Tim Hortons community. To date, more than $235 million has been raised through Camp Day and Smile Cookie across North America.
