Franchise History

For over 40 years, the Strickland family of Savannah, Georgia, has made the South synonymous with handmade Southern sweets. In business since 1973, River Street Sweets is the oldest candy store Savannah, Georgia. Today, siblings Jennifer and Tim Strickland operate River Street Sweets, and just down the street, their father Stan Strickland operates Savannah’s Candy Kitchen. River Street Sweets and Savannah’s Candy Kitchen joined forces in 2015 to create a unified, franchise candy shop opportunity called River Street Sweets-Savannah’s Candy Kitchen.
