Assisting Hands Home Care Opens in Hillsborough County

March 27, 2014 // Franchising.com // TAMPA - To meet the needs of the aging population in the Florida Gulf Coast area, an Assisting Hands Home Care office has opened in Tampa to serve all of Hillsborough County. The community is invited to welcome this new business while it hosts a grand opening celebration on April 4 at 1:00 pm.

The new franchise office, Assisting Hands Gulf Coast, is owned and operated by Alexis Nguyen. It is located at 2203 N. Lois Avenue, Suite #953, Tampa, FL 33607, and the phone number is (813) 868-6782.

Alexis has been a United States resident since 1980, when the Vietnam War drove her and her parents here as refugees. She obtained her citizenship, earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Florida, a MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management, and her designation as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from Project Management Institute.

Moving from Florida to Indiana, and then to California, Alexis launched a 19-year-long, successful career in the information technology and medical case management field. However, Alexis’ personal experience caring for her mother led her to open an in-home caregiving business by becoming an Assisting Hands Home Care franchisee.

"I returned to Florida when my aging mother began to need assistance with her personal care; she has had two open-heart surgeries," explained Alexis. "It was seeing firsthand what mom is going through that inspired me to make sure she and other area-seniors get the care they deserve."

Alexis wants to serve seniors like her mother and ensure the highest quality in-home care is available for her area’s aging, disabled, and those recovering from surgery or injuries. A successful Assisting Hands Home Care franchise office, called Assisting Hands Tampa Bay, is currently open in North Tampa, and Alexis looks forward to expanding the service area further south with her new Assisting Hands Gulf Coast office covering all of Hillsborough County.

Alexis is also thrilled to bring the latest programs in senior care to the region.

"My business is 80 percent paperless with an advanced communication system which my staff can access remotely to obtain the most current information for our clients," explained Alexis. "We also provide holistic programs with applied arts in medicine."

More than 65 applicants were interviewed and screened for background checks before Alexis chose her first three caregivers, comprising a team of professionals, which, including herself, possesses more than 90 years of combined experience in medical and case management and home healthcare. Assisting Hands Gulf Coast is continuing to hire caregivers, nurses, office personnel, community liaisons and care schedulers to join its team.
