JDog Junk Removal Inks 10-Unit Franchise Deal for Arizona, Missouri and Louisiana

Former VFW Executive Invests in Nation’s Only U.S. Military Veteran Brand

BERWYN, Pa. - October 20, 2015 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - JDog Junk Removal & Hauling, a rapidly growing company dedicated to increasing post-military career opportunities for veterans, has signed a franchise deal set to bring 10 new locations to Louisiana, Arizona and Missouri over the next five years. The first location is expected to open next month in Baton Rouge, La.

Franchisee Larry Rivers, a United States Marine Corps veteran who served during the height of the Vietnam War as an infantry officer, hopes to have the 10 new JDog locations up-and-running within the next three to five years. Following his discharge from the Marine Corps, Rivers practiced law for several years before becoming highly involved with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) headquarters in D.C., including an appointment as the National Adjutant General.

“I wanted an opportunity to build a lasting business based on my strong convictions and work ethic as a veteran,” said Rivers, who will operate the Louisiana franchises with the support of his wife Judy, daughter Rosalyn Nicoll and son-in-law Lance Nicoll. “JDog Junk Removal offers me and my family the chance to positively contribute to our community, be strong patriots and build a company we can be proud of for many years to come.”

JDog currently has awarded more than 40 franchise territories in 10 states, including debuts this year in California, Illinois and North Carolina, with several more expected to open in early 2016.

“We are excited about the tremendous growth JDog Junk Removal has seen across the nation, but more importantly, the viable career opportunities we’re continuing to provide for U.S. veterans,” said JDog founder Jerry Flanagan. “This significant franchise deal is one we are honored to announce, considering the distinguished background of veteran and franchisee Larry Rivers.”

JDog sells franchises exclusively to military veterans and their family members. Franchise owners operate easily recognizable, camouflage vehicles and trailers and wear military-style uniforms. JDog recycles and repurposes a substantial amount of the collected material. The Philadelphia-based company works closely with local and national organizations like Goodwill and Habitat for Humanity, as well as local schools, churches and hospitals to donate useful items to those in need.
