PADUCAH, Ky. - October 26, 2016 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Dippin’ Dots fans will soon enjoy the newest flavor of the flash-frozen beaded ice cream—Brownie Batter, a fudgy blend of brownie batter ice cream and chewy brownie bites.
“I remember when I was a kid making brownies with my family--the delicious smell of brownies baking filled the house. And what I loved even more than the hot brownies was licking the brownie batter from the bowl,” recalled Dana Knudsen, Dippin’ Dots Director of Marketing. “With our new Brownie Batter ice cream, we wanted to capture that moment and bring it outside of the kitchen for families to enjoy while walking around the mall, at a fair, at a theme park, at the beach or even watching a ball game.”
Brownie Batter was chosen as the next Dippin’ Dots flavor after research revealed the idea was a hit with consumers. The Dippin’ Dots flavor committee examined taste trends and feedback from the sales team in the field who socialized the idea. With room in the company’s popular flavor portfolio for a more decadent taste, Brownie Batter became the clear choice to become the company’s next new flavor.
The Dippin’ Dots ice cream makers team created various iterations of the flavor and spent months gathering consumer feedback. The feedback process pinpointed both the best flavor for the ice cream and brownie inclusion to strike the perfect balance of taste and texture.
Brownie Batter Dippin’ Dots are joining over two dozen widely popular ice cream, ice, sherbet and frozen yogurt flavors including Cookies ‘n Cream made with Oreo®, Banana Split and the Fall favorite, Spookies ‘n Cream, a Halloween inspired treat with orange vanilla ice cream and Oreo® cookies.
Let the countdown to 2017 begin! Brownie Batter Dippin’ Dots will be available for shipping in mid-February in time to debut in Dippin’ Dots locations across the country in the Spring. The new flavor will be promoted with Franchisees during the month of April, with a national “Batter Up” sweepstakes timed with the start of the 2017 baseball season. “Our newest flavor will be a big hit in 2017,” Knudsen said.
