Hottest Flatbread Concept in U.S. Will Open Second Unit in Virginia
October 20, 2008 // Franchising.com // West Redding, CT, October 20, 2008— Sandella's Flatbread Café and Melaku Woldeyes closed a deal to bring another unit to Northern Virginia that Woldeyes hopes to open before the end of the year. Woldeyes' store will be the third to open in Northern VA, joining Arlington and Fair Oaks locations, and will add to the several upcoming openings in surrounding areas including Fairfax, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Sandella's Flatbread Café is a fast casual flatbread concept featuring a health-conscious menu that has gained worldwide popularity. With over 125 locations currently open, Sandella's expansion plans include 400 new restaurants across the United States and the United Arab Emirates. Woldeyes has the option to bring up to six more units to the Northern Virginia area.
Woldeyes is hoping to tap into the real estate market of popular areas throughout Northern Virginia such as Crystal City and Rosslyn, with hopes to venture into D.C. sometime in the near future as well.

Restaurants average 1,000-1,500 square feet and seat 30 to 40 guests.
