Hungry Howie's Raises Funds for Breast Cancer Awareness

Hungry Howie's Pizza, the originator of Flavored Crust Pizza and one of the nation's largest pizza chains, has joined the fight against breast cancer by raising $100,000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation Inc.

The fundraising effort took place in October 2009 where Hungry Howie's featured bright pink pizza boxes emblazoned with breast cancer awareness ribbons instead of the original classic Howie yellow boxes. For every pizza purchased, Hungry Howie's made a donation to the cause.

"We are so proud that we reached our goal of raising this money. So many women and men are affected by breast cancer and we are honored we could help make a difference in the lives of people suffering from this disease." said Jeff Rinke, Hungry Howie's vice president of marketing and product development.

Founded in 1973, Madison Heights, Michigan-based Hungry Howie's Pizza is the originator of the Flavored Crust Pizza and one of the nation's largest pizza franchises. With approximately 575 locations in 24 states, Hungry Howie's is ranked in the top 100 of Entrepreneur magazine's Franchise 500 in 2009.
