Paciugo Gelato & Caffe Franchise Marks September 30th Paciugo Gelato Day

Authentic Italian Gelato Chain Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Free Scoop of Gelato for Everyone

September 15, 2010 // Franchising.com // DALLAS - Paciugo Gelato & Caffè, a family owned and operated Italian gelateria, today announced it will declare September 30th Paciugo Gelato Day.

In celebration of its 10th Anniversary, Paciugo Gelato & Caffè will offer customers across the nation a complimentary scoop from two of its Italian gelato recipes, Mediterranean Sea Salt Caramel and Amarena Black Cherry Swirl. The Paciugo 10 year anniversary marks a significant milestone for company co-founders Cristiana Ginatta, her husband Ugo and his son Vincenzo, after leaving their hometown of Torino, Italy for Dallas, Texas a decade ago.

"Ugo and I dreamed of sharing the Italian experience and authentic Italian gelato with Americans but never could I have imagined that ten years would bring so many smiles, customers and friends who love Paciugo Gelato." said Cristiana. Celebrating 10 years and Paciugo Gelato Day allows us to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has supported Paciugo, whether it has been by visiting one of our gelaterie or talking about us to friends and family, we are so very thankful."

Cristiana's passion for handcrafted gelato dates back to her early childhood with memories of her grandfather making gelato in wood barrels and rock salt. After studying economics in college, Cristiana ran back to the kitchen and followed her natural talent and interest in the culinary arts. Cristiana studied at several gelato schools and apprenticed at a fourth generation gelateria in Turin, Italy where she gained in-depth knowledge of artisanal gelato techniques and authentic recipes before pursuing an entrepreneurial career in America with her husband.

Today, Cristiana is the Mastro Gelataio, conducting extensive research each year to create unique flavor combinations of Gelato. While some flavors are traditional with simple ingredients, others are exotic and take several years to complete and perfect. Her husband Ugo and his son Vincenzo are partners in the business operation, spearheading the growth of the brand nationwide.

"The key to making the best Gelato is to meticulously select the ingredients and handcraft small batches on-site every day," added Cristiana. "We aspire to find the right balance of ingredients in our Gelato recipes, sweet as a dessert, creamy without coating the taste buds, and intensely flavored because it is fresh, natural and not artificial."

Each Paciugo Gelato Caffè freshly handcrafts more than 30 flavors of gelato and sorbet each morning in small batches, using wholesome ingredients such as whole pasteurized milk, cane sugar, hand-squeezed fruit juices and seasonal fruit from local farmers, chocolate from Belgium and Italian hazelnuts, pistachios and candied amarene cherries.

In addition, the brand's menu features all-natural, 100% Arabica coffees and espresso-based drinks, as well as gelato-based specialty drinks and desserts, and premium hot chocolate.
