Fro.Zen.Yo Expanding To Boston, Massachusetts

August 15, 2011 // Franchising.com // WASHINGTON, DC - Fro.zen.yo delicious self-serve frozen yogurt announced today that a multi-unit franchise agreement has been reached to develop two fro.zen.yo stores in downtown Boston, Massachusetts.

Licensed franchisee Matthew Coombs' agreement with fro.zen.yo calls for a minimum of two locations to open in the Backbay and Northeastern University areas. Mr. Coombs is considering a number of new retail development areas for their first location expected to open by March 2012.

"We chose to make our investment into fro.zen.yo for a number of reasons," said Coombs. "First we wanted a small business that was simple to operate and offered a great product. Second, we were looking for a business our family could get involved in and learn from, and finally, we wanted a yogurt concept that understood the importance of giving customers a great value, and fro.zen.yo does just that."

The fro.zen.yo concept was created by a management team that brings considerable restaurant and retail experience to the table and is based on a self-serve a la carte format. The first fro.zen.yo opened in Friendship Heights in DC to rave reviews and long lines of frozen yogurt-cravers. Currently, fro.zen.yo has 8 locations open in the DC metro area and is in advanced conversations with prospective franchisees to bring the fro.zen.yo brand to many other cities in the US and overseas.

"I welcome Matthew Coombs to the fro.zen.yo franchise family. I believe, because of his knowledge of Boston, he will prove to be a top performer in the fro.zen.yo franchise system," said Michael Rendelman, Director of Franchising for fro.zen.yo. "fro.zen.yo is definitely meeting a need for customers seeking an alternative to bland flavorless frozen yogurt and calorie packed ice cream and desserts."

Fro.zen.yo's frozen yogurt is low fat and low calorie. The fro.zen.yo menu features more than 38 flavors of frozen yogurt and a variety of fresh fruit, candy and other unique toppings including caramel and free hot fudge. Customers get to choose any combination of flavors and toppings, all for the low price of $.39 per ounce. Fro.zen.yo offers free hot fudge and also offers Deer Park bottled water for $.29.

Fro.zen.yo is one of two franchised concepts being actively developed in the DC area with Franchise Consulting, LLC (FC). FC was founded under the leadership of Mike Halpern and is responsible for the successful launch of worldwide, franchised brands including Brown Bag: Cuisine on the Fly, Camille's Sidewalk Café, FreshBerry and Paisano's Pizza.
