LunchBOX Franchise LLC plans to award up to four franchises in 2013 and approximately 24 franchises in 2014. When LunchBOX Founder Debi Lane realized the day spa she owned in Sun Valley was becoming nationally known for its unique speed-waxing technique, she transformed it to the state's first wax-only salon and since has experienced 100 percent year-over-year growth.
"Waxing, which is increasing in popularity and is becoming a more consistent contributor to the $7 billion beauty industry, was generally an after-thought at spas and salons," said Lane. "A clean, chic place dedicated entirely to comfort and waxing makes sense for consumers and business owners. It's the smartest business move I've ever made."
Projected first-year sales are $337,000 (per two waxing suites) with gross profits of $181,526, based on 2012 operations of the LunchBOX corporate store in Boise, Idaho. The majority of LunchBOX salons will feature four-suite configurations for a $45,000 initial franchisee fee. Total initial investment costs are estimated between $181,202-$263,577 based on a 120-day build-out schedule.
