J.D. Byrider Opens First New York location, 150th Store Systemwide

August 21, 2013 // Franchising.com // ALBANY, N.Y. – Albany-area residents have another option for purchasing used cars now that a new J.D. Byrider location is open at 2017 Central Ave., Albany, N.Y. The new store is the 150th J.D. Byrider dealership nationwide and the first in New York. First-time J.D. Byrider franchisees Thomas Hoffman Jr. and Ron Slone will own and operate the new location.

“J.D. Byrider has built a reputation on providing quality cars for those who have less-than-perfect credit,” said Hoffman. “We’re dedicated to help customers get a car and financing that fits their needs and budget – we’ll help make anyone ‘Good to Go’ in the greater Albany area.”

The 20,000 square-foot location will offer used car sales, 12 service bays, a 36-month/36,000-mile warranty for those who qualify to purchase a vehicle, affordable pricing on parts and labor, a customer service center and J.D. Byrider’s industry-leading financing options. The dealership will also create approximately 12 new jobs.

"Our Albany, N.Y., store represents a remarkable milestone for J.D. Byrider and our dealer body of 52 franchisees,” said Tom Welter, vice president of franchising at J.D. Byrider. “Twenty-five years into this business, our value proposition continues to resonate with our franchisees. Our current franchisees represent two-thirds of our new store openings in 2013, and our new franchisees see J.D. Byrider as one of the highest return-on-investment franchises in America.”

“Our business model and strong returns, combined with the relationships we have built with our franchise community, will continue to generate double-digit unit growth for the foreseeable future,” said Welter. “We look forward to expanding our footprint in new markets and states like New York to serve the needs of our customers."

In addition to the Albany location, J.D. Byrider opened new locations in Jackson, Miss., Barboursville, W.Va., Rockford, Ill., Bradenton, Fla., and Omaha, Neb., this year. Last year, J.D. Byrider had its biggest year for growth, opening 14 new dealerships across the United States. With these new stores, J.D. Byrider now has 150 locations in 30 states, with plans for continued growth in 2013.
