Fantastic Sams Hair Salons Launches New Franchise Development Website

The Country's First Full-Service Unisex Salon Franchise Boasts Higher Average Ticket Price Than Those at Discount Haircutters

BOSTON, MA - (Marketwired - Jun 17, 2014) - Fantastic Sams Hair Salons, America's first full-service unisex hair salon franchise, has launched a new franchise opportunity website at www.fantasticsamsfranchise.com that features Q&As with franchisees, video interviews with the leadership team, startup costs and details about the hair salon industry and how Fantastic Sams stands out from the competition.

Fantastic Sams, which offers cuts, color, styling and facial waxing, expects to grow its franchise system in 2014-15.

"There are a lot of cut-only salons out there, but Fantastic Sams has the advantage because we are a full-service, affordable salon," says Linda Chadwick, COO of Fantastic Sams. "Color is our specialty. The walk-in convenience helps build customer loyalty, and the additional services drive up our average ticket price beyond the typical discount haircutters. That gives our franchisees higher margins. Plus, our unisex services provide a more stable model than those cut-only franchises that cater to men or children only."

Franchisees oversee their salons while benefitting from the backing of Fantastic Sams and its parent company, Dessange International. Fantastic Sams has more than 1,100 locations in the United States and has been in business for 40 years, having developed an expert stylist-training protocol and world-class support systems that help franchisees outmaneuver competitors.

The $75 billion salon industry is predicted to grow by 8% this year, almost entirely thanks to color services. That gives Fantastic Sams hair salon franchises an edge over the cut-only franchises.

LaRonda Hunter, a former accountant who owns four Fantastic Sams salons in the Fort Worth, Texas, area, loved the stability of the salon industry, even during the recession, and she was impressed with the brand's flat franchise fee, as well as its support system for franchise owners -- who don't need any previous salon experience.

"I knew nothing about the hair salon business whatsoever," Hunter said. "That's actually why I decided to buy a franchise versus trying to open my own business. I knew I'd need help in learning the ropes. I wanted access to people who could teach me. Fantastic Sams has certainly done that for me."

Fantastic Sams worked with Nashville-based Franchise Performance Group to develop the new site. For more information, visit www.fantasticsamsfranchise.com.
