Express Employment Professionals Puts More Than 5,000 New People to Work Weekly

International Company Posts 16% Growth Mid-Year with Highest Growth Seen by Canadian Franchises at 32%

Toronto, Ontario - (Marketwired - July 31, 2014) - Express Employment Professionals, the largest franchised staffing company in North America, today reported that through the first six months of 2014 it put an average of 5,370 new people to work each week, up from an average of 2,509 in 2009.

"Since 2009, we have doubled the number of new people being hired," said Bob Funk, Express Employment Professionals CEO and chairman of the board. "The company is on track to connect more than 450,000 people to employment by the end of the year."

Additionally, through the first half of 2014, Express franchisees generated more than $1.3 billion in sales, posting a 16 per cent increase compared to the same time in 2013 and surpassing the staffing industry average growth of 8 per cent.

Franchises in Canada saw the highest growth rate generating more than $51.4 million in mid-year sales, a 32 per cent increase compared to 2013. Through the first six months of the year it put an average of 184 new people to work each week, up from an average of 79 per week in 2009.

The strong performance resulted in Staffing Industry Analysts naming Express the fastest growing major staffing company. Other areas of growth for Express were in administrative staffing at 25 per cent and professional staffing at 19 per cent.

The same sectors driving growth in Canada show industrial staffing at an unprecedented 46 per cent growth year-to-date, professional services at 18 per cent and administrative positions at 6.25 per cent.

"Canadian franchises have experienced a great start to 2014 and are on track for a record year. We are getting people back to work, and delivering value to our clients," Funk said. "Our owners and staff members in Canada have a heart for helping people find fulfilling work. When you focus on people first, the rewards are not far behind."

This year Express added three n new new locations in Canada and in June the company celebrated the opening of its 700th franchise location worldwide, helping entrepreneurs achieve their dream of small business ownership.

"Our vision is to help as many people as possible find good jobs by helping clients find good people, " Funk said. "There is an extreme sense of purpose and fulfillment when people are able to work and provide for their families. That's why we're committed to our company's long-term goal of putting a million people to work each year.

"The growth we've seen as a company in Canada, and in all our locations, is a testament to the culture of Express," Funk said. "We have an incredible support team who is dedicated to helping people succeed at the franchise level, and our franchisees are personally invested in seeing their communities grow and thrive."
