STAMFORD, Conn. - June 2, 2015 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - As part of its third annual celebration of National Running Day, Westin Hotels & Resorts, part of Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT), continues its commitment to wellness with the launch of Run With a View, a new runWESTIN offering that encourages guests to take their runs outside by bringing the signature runWESTIN™ maps to life through photography. Run Concierges across select Westin properties in the U.S. and Canada have hand-selected at least five spots along the local 3 and 5 mile maps that are ideal for capturing inspiring wellness-themed photos to share on social media.
Through The Westin Well-being Movement and the brand’s Move Well pillar, Run With a View allows guests to look at their fitness routine through a new lens. Starting June 3rd, before heading out on their run, guests can check in with their local Run Concierge to locate the five picture perfect wellness spots on the map, as well as learn the interesting background on why these locations make for an engaging social media upload. Guests are encouraged to snap and post these moments on their social media channels with #runwestin and #runwithaview.
“We are constantly evolving our wellness offerings to provide engaging fitness options that also encourage guests to explore their local surroundings,” said Bob Jacobs, Vice President of Brand Management, North America, Westin Hotels & Resorts. “Run With a View allows guests to discover intriguing, and perhaps never-before-seen, photo-worthy moments during their run, inspiring them to share their wellness experiences with friends, family and followers.”
Westin will be kicking off Run With a View with a star-studded 5K run on June 3rd in California at The Westin Pasadena Hotel, led by National runWESTIN™ Concierge Chris Heuisler and a surprise host. These two avid runners will lead a group of guests and associates through The Westin Pasadena Hotel’s 5K map, pointing out the wellness-inspired moments along the way in what can be described as the digital age’s version of a traditional photo tour. Westin properties in North America will be joining the celebration with their own 5K runs that showcase the hand-picked social media worthy views. Participating hotels include The Westin Copley Place, The Westin Grand Vancouver Hotel, The Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto, Le Westin Montreal, The Westin Charlotte, The Westin Ka’anapali Ocean Resort Villas, The Westin Austin at The Domain, The Westin Indianapolis, among others.
Building on the momentum of North America’s National Running Day efforts, many Westin properties around the world are also executing Move Well activities to further reinforce Westin’s brand programming and commitment to the well-being of both associates and guests.
