Spaulding Decon Announces the Grand Opening of Franchise in Austin, Texas

May 04, 2016 // Franchising.com // AUSTIN, Texas - Spaulding Decon, a nationally established leader in crime-scene cleanup, hoarding cleanup and meth-lab decontamination, today announced the grand opening of its franchise location in Austin, Texas. The company will provide decontamination services to businesses and private residents statewide. Franchisee James Lynch began official operations on April 29 and will host a ceremonial ribbon-cutting on May 5 at 4 p.m. at the Round Rock Chamber, 212 East Main Street, Round Rock, Texas, 78664.

Spaulding Decon, Austin is the second franchise location to open in a month, following a grand opening in Wichita, Kan. Lynch will take over the local corporate contracts for property decontamination, which were previously managed by company headquarters in Tampa, Fla. To handle the demand for services, Lynch plans to assemble a team of eight clean up technicians in the coming months, whom he will recruit and train locally.

“Recovering from the devastating impact of tragedy is an arduous process, but when a person’s home is affected, it can seem impossible,” said Lynch. “For more than a decade, Spaulding Decon has improved the lives of thousands of people through the expert decontamination and restoration of homes and property. I’m proud to be a part of the company’s tradition of excellence and will work diligently to build on an already-sterling reputation.”

The Spaulding Decon franchise marks a significant career change for Lynch, who spent more than two decades in education, first as a teacher and later a supplier of digital curriculum.

“During my years in education, I worked tirelessly to make sure every student received the resources they needed to succeed. That experience will be invaluable in my new role as the owner of Spaulding Decon, Austin,” he said. “One of the biggest problems in this industry is a lack of public awareness of proper cleanup techniques and the health risks associated with crime scenes, hoarder homes and meth-lab properties. It’s a serious issue that I intend to address by working with community leaders and government officials to create lasting change that not only improves, but also saves lives.”

Prior to beginning operations in Austin, Lynch received extensive training in the latest decontamination techniques and practices from Spaulding Decon President and CEO Laura Spaulding at franchise headquarters in Tampa. Spaulding, a former police officer, said Lynch embodies the rare qualities necessary to achieve long-term success.

“A common trait among decontamination leaders is the ability to adapt quickly to new challenges and excel in an ever-evolving industry. It’s a skill that James Lynch has mastered in his long career in education,” said Spaulding. “I’m confident that his determination and passion for community will strengthen Spaulding Decon’s position as the national leader in professional decontamination.”
